21 Jan 2012 Today, I met Bonnie Zegler Novak and her daughter Lynn at the funeral service in Ripon, Calif., for Ruth Eva Zegler (1923-2012), the mother of the late Robert W. Zegler (1936-1988), the former Superintendent of the Whitney Point Central School District. As a former resident of "Whiskeyville" as I refer to the village which prides itself on being "best by a dam(n)site", I enjoyed my conversation with Ms. Novak. In accessing your lodge's website, I was pleasantly surprised by all the familiar names I encountered of the "old timers" whom I had met in WP in the 1970s, especially Betty Murphy, who, I was informed by Ms. Novak, had returned to WP from retirement in Florida. I also did not miss the exclusion of the late Arnold (alias "Pig") Lee (1928-1996), the Village of WP's police chief, who used to hassle me about driving a VW with California license plates, even though I had never given up my legal residence in the "Golden State". Hopefully, "Arnie" got his sails trimmed in Arizona by the likes of the infamous Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County following his move to Tucson in the late 1980s. I would have loved to see dear officer Arnie made to don pink panties for having allegedly run afoul of his Arizona law enforcement counterpart. With bittersweet memories of Whitney Point, Barbara E. Lieber, 1453 8th Street, Livingston, CA 95334 (626-628-7195) barbaraelieber@gmail.com

This is a test! I would like to take the RTTE Course.

I will be going to Windsor Lodge, I hope we have enough members to pick up the Traveling Gavel.
